B2B prospecting is the active search for companies with a buying profile and outreach to the people who make decisions inside them, by email, professional network and phone. At Busca Orgânica, the target account list and the messages come from the sector's search data, and every touchpoint takes the decision-maker to the page for their segment on the client's website.
Blasting the same message to hundreds of companies outside your profile yields little and teaches the market to ignore your name. The B2B prospecting we run starts from the opposite: a few accounts chosen with data, approached with a message for their segment and brought to a page of your website that speaks to that buyer.
Busca Orgânica is a technology company with its own methodology, headquartered in Guarulhos (SP), with more than 700 clients served since 2021 (Grupo Orion corporate materials, Sep/2026). Outbound prospecting comes in as a complement to organic search, never as a substitute, and what guides who to approach and with what subject is each sector's search data.
What is B2B prospecting?
B2B prospecting is the work of finding companies that fit the ideal customer profile and opening a conversation with the people who make the purchase decision inside them. B2B, business to business, is selling from one company to another: the decision cycle is longer, involves more than one person, and the ticket size justifies an approach designed account by account.
The service covers three pieces that work together: the target account list, messaging by segment and the outreach cadence. The fourth piece comes from our SEO work: every touchpoint points to a page of the client's website written for that segment, the same page the decision-maker finds when searching on Google.
What is the difference between B2B prospecting and lead generation?
Lead generation attracts interested contacts through content, SEO and digital channels, in a motion where the company is found. Prospecting takes the active route: it goes to the right company with a well-designed approach. The two add up, because a lead who already knows the brand responds better, and prospecting reveals objections that become content for the website.
Message templates by channel and by stage, with the most common mistake for each, are in the post prospecting message templates. On this page, we cover the service: who we choose to approach, in what order and where we send the contact.
How does sector search data guide the approach?
What a sector searches for on Google and asks AI tools is the most honest picture of the buyer's pain. Before building the list, we read the queries in the client website's Search Console and test in Google AI Mode and ChatGPT the questions a buyer in that segment would ask. The result decides three things: which segments go on the list, which problem opens the first message and which page of the website receives the click.
An example of what this changes: if the searches already bringing visits to the website are about maintenance, not purchasing, the message to manufacturers opens with the cost of machine downtime, not with the catalog. This pattern appears in the industrial segment most present in our base, machinery and equipment, with 20 of the 159 manufacturing projects (Busca Orgânica client base, Oct/2026), the same audience as the SEO and GEO for manufacturing page.
How does B2B prospecting work in practice?
We organize the service in six stages, each with a deliverable the client receives:
- Ideal customer profile. Sector, size, region, decision-maker's role and the pain point the solution solves, written from search data and the deals the client has already closed. Deliverable: a one-page profile.
- Target account list. Companies that fit the profile, sourced from legitimate sources, with the origin of each contact recorded. Deliverable: the account spreadsheet.
- Messaging by segment. An opener for each segment on the list, with the problem the searches revealed and a link to the website page covering that segment. Deliverable: the approved openers, one per segment.
- Cadence. The sequence of touches by email, professional network and phone, with the interval between them and what each touch adds. Deliverable: the cadence calendar, with the copy for each touch.
- Qualification. We separate those who replied with real interest from those who only opened the message, using criteria agreed with the sales team. Deliverable: the qualified list, with the criterion each account met.
- Handoff to sales. The salesperson receives the account with the touch history, the stated pain point and the segment, instead of a loose name. Deliverable: the handoff sheet for each account.
Links in the messages carry campaign parameters, and the report shows how many visits from each segment reached the landing page and how many became contacts.
How does each Busca Orgânica service add to prospecting?
Prospecting works with Busca Orgânica's six core services: each one covers a moment when the decision-maker who was approached goes looking for your company.
| Service | What the decision-maker does after the contact | What the service delivers |
|---|---|---|
| SEO for businesses | Searches for the service or the company name on Google | An indexed service and segment page, answering their question. |
| GEO for AI answers | Asks ChatGPT or AI Mode who supplies that | Content with data and sources, prepared to be cited. |
| AEO for direct answers | Looks for a short answer, such as lead time, standard or specification | Direct answers and FAQs that Google and assistants can extract. |
| Website design | Clicks the link in the message | A page per segment, with the contact click tracked. |
| Digital press relations | Checks whether the company appears in industry media | A mention with proprietary data, which also becomes the subject of the first email. |
| Google Business Profile | Checks the address, reviews and whether the company exists | A verified listing, with the same data as the website. |
Concrete examples: customer profile and a three-touch cadence
The following example illustrates the method and does not use real client data.
Ideal customer profile for a manufacturer
- Who is selling: a manufacturer of storage systems, such as pallet racks and mezzanines, in Grande São Paulo.
- Target sector: distribution centers and food and beverage manufacturers.
- Size and region: mid-sized and large operations in the state of São Paulo, with their own warehouse.
- Decision-maker: logistics or operations manager, with safety engineering involved in the process.
- Pain point: expanding warehouse capacity without stopping shipping.
- Timing signal: an announced expansion project or an open position for warehouse supervisor.
Three-touch cadence
| Touch | Channel | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The data point: the sizing mistake the manufacturer sees most in expansions, with a link to the food storage page on their website. | |
| 2 | Professional network (LinkedIn) | A connection request to the logistics manager, citing the article the manufacturer's director published on the topic. |
| 3 | Phone | An offer of a technical visit to the warehouse, already with the context of the two previous touches. |
Each touch brings new information, and none repeats the previous one with an empty reminder. If the account does not respond after the third touch, it leaves the cadence and only returns to the list when a new signal appears, such as an announced construction project.
B2B prospecting and the LGPD
Handling company and personal data requires legal care. The B2B prospecting we run follows the LGPD, Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law 13,709/2018), which defines the legal bases for using personal data in Brazil. The full text is on the Planalto portal: General Data Protection Law (Law 13,709/2018). This means using legitimate sources, making clear who is reaching out and why, and respecting the request of anyone who no longer wants to be contacted.
In practice, the record is kept in the account spreadsheet, the stage 2 deliverable: each contact has the source it came from and the collection date next to it. Anyone who asks to opt out of B2B prospecting is flagged in the same spreadsheet and stops receiving cadence touches, and the flag is kept so the person does not return to the list in a future collection.
Where does outbound prospecting make the most difference?
The criterion we use in the sales assessment is audience size: outbound prospecting pays off when the ideal customer profile fits in an account list you can research one by one, with a high ticket and group decision-making. This profile appears in our portfolio. In manufacturing, there are 159 projects, with industrial machinery and equipment (20), industrial automation (6) and screws and fasteners (5) among the segments. In service providers, among the 165 projects, there are segments that sell to businesses, such as environmental consulting (6), fire safety (5) and engineering services (5) (Busca Orgânica client base, Oct/2026).
In these markets, one closed account pays for the effort of approaching dozens, and the segment page gives the decision-maker the right place to check the proposal before the meeting.
When outbound prospecting is not the way
Outbound prospecting makes less sense for companies selling low tickets at high volume to end consumers, a scenario where content and ads tend to be more efficient at attracting customers; at Grupo Orion, ads are handled by Mídia & Tráfego. It also does not pay to prospect before you are clear on the customer profile and the value proposition, because the approach comes out unfocused. In a very narrow market, with few buying companies, the work becomes handcrafted: an individual approach for each account, instead of a cadence at scale.
How much does B2B prospecting cost?
In B2B prospecting, we do not charge per meeting booked or promise a number of meetings: the response depends on each company's offer, market and timing. The price comes from the volume of accounts that enter the monthly routine and what each account requires before the first touch:
- Ideal customer profile. Already validated by the deals the client has closed, or built from scratch from search data, which adds a research stage.
- Accounts per month. Each account on the list is researched before the message, so the monthly volume defines the research hours, not just the number of sends.
- Cadence channels. Email and professional network only, or also the phone touch, which requires its own script.
- First qualification call. As a rule, it stays with the client's sales team; if it is included in the scope, the work grows.
- Segment pages. When the website does not have the segment page, it goes live before the first message, through website design.
In organic search, Busca Orgânica works with a performance guarantee set out in the contract, with targets agreed at the start of the project. Outbound prospecting falls outside that guarantee: metrics are agreed separately, with no meeting target, and the organic model is described in SEO with a performance guarantee.
